What are the Member Privileges?

Participation in all the local academic/non academic activities of the Association Free / Concessional registration in the conferences organized by the association. Participation in all the educational/Research/Promotional activities undertaken by the association from time to time.

What is cessation of membership?

The Governing Body by a two third (2/3rd) majority of the members present in the meeting, may remove the name of any member from the register of members, for gross misconduct after sending him/her a notice by registered post and giving him/her a proper opportunity to defend himself/herself including a hearing in person. Such action of the Governing Body shall be subject to ratification by 2/3 members present at the General Body Meeting of the Association.

What is membership register?

A membership Register containing the names and addresses of members shall be kept at Headquarters of IDCM. On receiving information from members, all changes pertaining to the members including their citizenship or addresses shall be recorded in the register. A list of members with their names and addresses shall be circulated to all the members once in five years. The addendum shall be displayed on Association Website after the new members are approved by the Governing Body and regular updating of this list shall be done.

Can a member resign?

A member wishing to resign his/her membership shall communicate the same to the Governing Body in writing. The life membership fee of such member shall not be refunded and the name of such member shall be removed from the membership Register.

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Who are Patrons?

Initially any corporate body or an individual donating an amount of Rs.1,00,000/-(Rs.One Lakh Only ) would at the discretion of the Governing Body may be enrolled as a Patron of the Association. The donation amount for admitting a patron member shall be as decided by the Governing Body from time to time. Patron members shall have neither voting rights nor the right to propose or second any person for any post or hold any office of the Association.

Benefits of Life Members & who can become Life Members?

The Membership Eligibility Criteria for Life members would be to possess any of the following qualifications recognized by the Medical Council of India and/or approved by the Governing Body of the Association. Life membership shall be open to citizens of India only. DM / DNB (Endocrinology/Cardiology) MD (Medicine) MBBS plus Diploma in Diabetes/Cardiology/Endocrinology MBBS plus fellowship in Diabetes/ Cardiology MRCP in Diabetes and endocrine disorders/Cardiology M.Sc. in Diabetes/Endocrinology/Cardiology MBBS plus PhD in Diabetes/Cardiology Any person qualified to be a Life Member could be enrolled as a Life Member of the Association after paying one time subscription fee (as applicable) which is non‐refundable. In addition he/she shall be required to pay an admission fee as prescribed. The life membership fee shall form a part of the corpus of the Association. . Life members shall have voting rights, the rights to propose, second any one or contest for any office of the Governing Body. Life members of the Association are eligible for any oration, lectureship or any other award of the Association as decided by the governing body or scientific committee of the particular scientific event. Persons otherwise eligible to be admitted as Life Members but who are not citizens of India may be admitted as Life Associate Members only, in the manner provided below. Persons who are MBBS and who have minimum experience of 5years , Doctors of other specialties other than Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Diabetology, Endocrinology, and Dieticians with interest in Diabetes may be enrolled as Life Associate Members.

Who can be Life Associate Members?

A person holding qualifications for Life Associate Members as mentioned in the above FAQ and recognized by the Medical Council of India and/or approved by the Governing Body of the Association i.e. IDCM is eligible for Life Associate Membership. Life Associate Members shall have no voting rights, nor the rights to propose second anyone, or contest for any office of the Governing Body.

What is membership procedure?

The membership application shall be in a form prescribed by the Governing Body and shall be duly proposed and seconded by existing valid members or two of the Governing Body members of IDCM. It shall be accompanied by documentary evidence of eligibility, qualification, and prescribed fees payable at Vadodara by Cheque/draft or other alternative means. The fees can be deposited electronically in the Bank account of the Association i.e. IDCM The Governing Body is the final authority to admit applications to all categories of membership. The Governing Body shall also accept resignation from membership, as also decide cessation of membership for any other reason.
